I am using AOL, what choice should I use for Network?

You can use either Internet Dial Up, or Internet Lan. The important thing to remember is that you need to launch AOL before attempting an update.

Will splits and distributions be automatically calculated?

Yes, in Data Retrieval Options, place a check in "Process Splits and dividends" and also in "Process distributions". Then when the data service sends the information the program will automatically adjust the pricing.

What time should the update be performed?

You should wait until 8:30 EST before updating your database.

The connection log says "communication complete, no requests made", what does this mean?

This could mean your computer date or time are incorrect.

The connection log says "you are not enabled for this service", and will not update the data?

Open myTrack, click on chat, entitlements, features and enable the TradingExpert/Dial Data feature.

I have bad data on one of my stocks, how do I correct it?

In Data Retrieval Options, click on selected ticker and enter the symbol. Then, click on Reload History. Enter the dates of the bad data, click on start update. Once the data has process the bad data should be overwritten with corrected data.

When I update I keep getting a message "limit exceeded", and data will not update, how do I correct this?

Open Data Manager, click on Utilities, choose Delete Non-Trading Stocks.

When the program begins processing the data I get a GPF in AIQcom32.exe, how can this be fixed?

Open Data Manager, click on Utilities, choose Rebuild Master Ticker List.

During processing of the download computer resources are not given back to the computer and all my programs lock up, why is this?


This problem is caused by McAfee Virus Scan version 5. Here are the steps provided by McAfee to take to correct the problem:

Loss of System Resources after Installing VirusScan

NOTE: These instructions are written for Windows 95, 98, and ME only.

Windows 98 and ME Users Edit the System Configuration Utility

1. Click on the Start Button.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type in msconfig and click on OK.
4. A window will open, click on the tab that says "Startup" on the right of the window.
5. Find Alogserv and uncheck it.
6. Click the Apply button and then the OK button.
7. A window will pop-up asking you to restart the computer so as to apply the changes made.
8. Click OK.
9. Your computer will restart itself and when it comes back up, the issue will be resolved.

Windows 95 Users Edit the Registry
1. Click on the Start Button.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type REGEDIT in the Open field.
4. Click the OK button. The Registry Editor window will appear.
5. On the left side of the screen double-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
6. Double-click on SOFTWARE.
7. Double-click on Microsoft.
8. Double-click on Windows.
9. Double-click on CurrentVersion.
10. Single-click on Run so it is highlighted.
11. Locate the Alogserv "C:FilesVirusScan.exe" entry on the right side of the screen.
12. Single-click on the Alogserv portion of this entry so it is highlighted.
13. Press the Delete key on the keyboard to remove the Alogserv "C:FilesVirusScan.exe" entry.
14. Close the Registry Editor window by clicking the X in the top right corner.
15. Restart your computer to apply the changes.
NOTE: After your computer has been restarted, your resources will be back to normal.
